Phoenix Neighborhoods

Downtown Phoenix
The downtown area of Phoenix has been undergoing a major facelift since the building of the US Airways Center (formerly America West Arena) and Chase Field. Coffeehouses, restaurants, nightclubs and shopping in the Arizona Center continue to draw people downtown for the hopping nightlife. Many new restaurants have blossomed, including A League Of Our Own. Incorporating the themes of Phoenix’s early history with culture and local events, Copper Square is a full square-mile hotspot for activities and action. Downtown attractions include a walk in the park at Patriots Square or delve into the new Arizona Science Center, Phoenix Museum of History or the Phoenix Art Museum.

West Phoenix
The inner neighborhoods of Phoenix include moderately priced homes largely developed in the 1970s. Shopping in the west area is popular at the Desert Sky Mall, and Cricket Pavilion offers an open-air entertainment amphitheatre for concerts and attractions.

The growing west side continues to spread outward. Visit charming Historic Downtown Glendale and Catlin Court for first-rate antique opportunities. The newer Arrowhead Towne Center Mall affords shopping and diverse dining choices. Cardinals Stadium is currently under construction in Glendale. The Fiesta Bowl is moving to the stadium in 2007 and the 2008 Superbowl (XLII) will be held at Cardinal Stadium.

South Phoenix
Largely comprised of low-cost housing and industry, the walled and gated community of Ahwatukee is a notable exception. Ahwatukee residents are mostly older adults and urban professionals, and upscale apartments coexist with middle class housing. Be sure to take the South Mountain Park Scenic Drive while you are visiting this area. Fabulous sunsets are the pride of Arizona and best enjoyed from a desert wilderness vantage point. Nearby shopping can be accomplished at the new Arizona Mills Mall just across the freeway.

Northwest
Past Peoria and Glendale are the communities of Sun City, Sun City West, Youngtown, and Surprise. Hikers will enjoy the White Tank Mountain Regional Park. The Sun Cities and Youngtown are largely retirement communities.

East Side of Phoenix
Bordering Phoenix is the town of Paradise Valley. Northeast of Phoenix, this area draws middle to upperclass residents. South of Paradise Valley is the neighborhood of Arcadia. Unlike most of Phoenix, Arcadia is filled with more mature landscape and citrus trees. East of Paradise Valley is Scottsdale, fondly referred to by residents as “The West’s Most Western Town.” Scottsdale is more upscale housing, catering to more upperclass residents.

Located south of Scottsdale, Tempe is primarily a college town and the home of Arizona State University and the Sun Devils. Local festivals such as Fall Festival of the Arts are extremely popular down on South Mill. Arizona State University is located in its center, ringed by family and student housing.

Why The Cutty Group Is Your Top Real Estate  Agents

The Cutty Group is a rising force in Phoenix Arizona’s complex real estate market. Partners Bette Zerba and Trisha Brooks have combined their fourteen years of experience to form this now three-year-old company with RE/MAX Desert Showcase. Today they are soaring, bringing in international buyers and managing a wide array of
Internet websites all while delivering top-notch service to each of their clients.

Zerba and Brooks each brought an established real estate career with them when The Cutty Group began. Working together in a previous office, they knew their skills sets would be a perfect complement in this new venture. Zerba’s background as a stockbroker, banker and analyst is indispensable in understanding the mindset and particular concerns of an investment buyer looking for the numbers and measured analysis of a property. These strengths combined with Brooks’ outstanding track record in sales both inside and out of the real estate industry, ensure that the pair is well equipped to meet a vast spectrum of clients from short sales and bank foreclosures to multi-million dollar listings and commercial listings. Additionally, the pair currently manages and lists a multi-million dollar portfolio of bank foreclosure properties for Premier Asset Services, a company owned by Wells Fargo Bank. “This bank contract gives us a lot ofmarket exposure with signs on properties all over the Valley” said Zerba. And, “the phones are ringing off the hook with buyers looking to take advantage of the inexpensive Phoenix residential and commercial prices.”

Though the Internet is key to driving business to The Cutty Group, once there, Zerba and Brooks pride themselves on combining technology with “old school” real estate. For every appointment in every price range, they equip their clients with a binder with the day’s agenda, the listing details of the properties and a pad of paper and pen. These simple tools, often overlooked in the modern real estate world of digital technology, help the client
feel connected and in control of the appointment. The small details and personalized attention are what have turned their Internet traffic into a major referral base.

Zerba and Brooks are known to go wherever their client’s hopes and dreams for a new home may lead them; from the high-rises at the Scottsdale Waterfront and Biltmore Optima to horse property in Cave Creek, to master plan communities such as Vistancia and Arrowhead in Peoria, Verrado in Buckeye, to inexpensive investment properties in the greater Phoenix area.

Today these skills are more important than ever.Phoenix’s housing prices and sunny climate have drawn an influx of Canadian buyers, changing the face of business for The Cutty Group. These international customers are new to Arizona and need both Zerba’s insight on the best buy for their money as well as Brooks’ understanding of the neighborhoods and helping them to negotiate efficiently and finding just the right home away from home.
“We want to educate our clients, not just about the property, but about the area,” says Zerba.

To continue providing this kind of service to their clients, Zerba and Brooks stay on top of the latest developments in the industry earning designations in the field. Most recently they have both earned the CDPE (CertifiedDistressed Property Expert) and the SFR (Short Sales and Foreclosure Resource). Adding these designations to their repertoire has allowed them to expand the business to more than the high end homes they are known for. Their ability to adapt to changing conditions and to flow with the current market tides gives them unparalleled access to all aspects of Phoenix real estate. friends and loyal customers.”
